At some point the question of how all this stuff gets funded will have to be addressed. They can't just say the rich will pay. There has to be a legitimate, workable plan, and if one can't be articulated, they better have something else interesting to talk about. There are some who are naive enough to think the money will magically appear, but fortunately most voters are smarter than that.

You'd have to delve into why they dislike the current state of affairs, and I doubt we have enough time or space here for that discussion. My simplified view is that there are forces out there that crave power, dominance, and wealth. Take a look at most Progressive causes and see if there are any that don't lead to expanded govt, both in size and degree of control. I remember when I was baptized, which is actually more meaningful to me. Your salvation experience is totally unique because God's plan for your life is totally unique. Your experiences, upbringing, temperament, family dynamic, education, how you heard the gospel and how you responded to it are unquestionably one of a kind. Consider, too, that hearing the gospel and believing it don't equal salvation. I don't remember a time when I didn't believe Jesus is who he says he is and that he died so we might have eternal life. But I can assure you I spent many years unsaved. It wasn't until I changed my view of sin that everything changed. Don't compare yourself and your testimony to anyone else's. I understand exactly what you're saying. The problem is, who decides what is morally acceptable, and when do we cross the line into censorship? I'm afraid the answer, which is increasingly difficult to maintain today, is a strong family unit. The gradual collapse of the family over the past couple of generations is, IMO, the reason we see the garbage we do. The best you can do is model the kind of behavior you want your kids to exhibit. Other than feed them, educate them, and keep them safe, that's our only jobs as parents.

This is something we will see from now on, thanks to technology. Instant news, the ability to send out edited and misleading information, and the thin line between censorship and properly vetting information that is spread online...these things are here to stay. It's more important than ever to exercise extreme caution when digesting the news. Lieu and Nadler are both despicable. Like so many others, they have no moral boundaries when it come to consolidating power, which they do by pushing the ethical envelop as far as possible in order to gain mindshare, which translates to votes. And in this country, votes=power.

Calls to mind a book I read many years ago titled "The Hidden Value of a Man." In it they talk about the two "swords" every man wields. The silver sword: protector, provider, competitor, etc. The gold sword: compassion, caring, empathy, kindness.... Sadly, many men leave their gold sword in it's sheath most of the time. The apostles undoubtedly knew he was extraordinary and sent by God, but we see in Luke 24:45 that it wasn't until after the resurrection that Jesus opened their minds so they could fully understand who he was.
