Eight Marxist Claims That May Surprise You
RobBlair comments on Dec 12, 2019:
1. He recognized the success of capitalism (ie he opened his eyes) 2. Capitalism through trade (which he calls exploitation for some reason) will tie and change every country 3. Capitalism brings constant change that will, over time, dispose of distractions and reveal our true needs. (this is actually interesting so I'm probably not interpreting it right) 4. The middle class will disappear into the poor class (this is completely wrong) 5. He opposed vast collections of private property but suggests that there is some low threshold of ownership that may be appropriate (this of course is bupkis. There is no threshold that exists against enough demonstrated need. With time, the rich are lost and you, the peon, get labeled rich) 6. He called voluntary labor involuntary 7. He suggested that labor will be slaved to each laborer's skill set. The button presser will only be a button presser (dead wrong) 8. The Marxist movement requires revolution. This namby pamby bloodless negotiation stuff is rubbish (revisionist). - see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revisionism_(Marxism)

We need to promote those who show courage. Those are the people we need when evil presents itself. Many Germans saw what was happening but chose the easy path. "Someone else will stand against this tyranny," they said to themselves. Of note, much of the rest of the world followed suit. I disagree with the criticism of Johnson. The President is the head of the executive. An executive who can't fire his staff is pointless.

President Andrew Johnson (an anti-slave Democrat who replaced Lincoln - the first Republican president after his assassination) was mostly charged with impeachment by congress for firing his Secretary of War, which Congress had specifically passed legislation to prevent from happening. He narrowly avoided removal from office. Later, the Supreme Court affirmed the President's ability to remove cabinet members in keeping with the Constitution and invalidated congress's law. - worth a read - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impeachment_of_Andrew_Johnson We get the congress we deserve and don't want.

From laws on TV censorship, anti-sodomy, anti-pornography, our crappy blue light laws, etc... I remember a time when I was in favor of these things. I do find myself questioning what to expose my 6 year old to at times. But, as a general rule, I think exposure followed by discussion is better than shielding. Of course I want to shield him from porn. That is quite the addictive drug and if I can keep it from him until 12 or so, I will consider it a win. All in all, I'm satisfied that government is no longer the blunt object used on these cultural items. These things should be left to discussions over the heats and minds. I will, of course, disagree regarding abortion. One of government's functions is to protect life. Struggling through a porn addiction is way better than being snuffed out before even being given a name and a birthday. As a minimum, under our Federal system, it should not be a garbage judicial law from on high that dictates every states stance on this. It is appropriate to be fearful over the power we place in our idiots in DC. But, properly confined, those idiots serve a necessary purpose. The first purpose should be life.

'Your right is someone's responsibility.
RobBlair comments on Dec 8, 2019:
As adults with free will, responsibility and authority should not be separated. In short, the "right" to health, is really a duty that societies may choose to shoulder. That duty would then require proper funding and support to survive. This kind of right, where a good or service is promised, is usually differentiated from other rights, that typically reduce the power of government or others to impose their will on another individual. The first is often referred to as "positive" rights vs the other as "negative" rights. Here's a humorous PJ O'Rourke article on negative/positive rights. https://americanconsequences.com/negative-rights-vs-positive-rights/ In all cases regarding positive rights/duties the following concerns should be addressed: 1. Why should the government be involved? Government is notoriously expensive, inefficient and authoritarian (they have guns and jails) compared to the free market. But, a free market for emergency services requires forethought on behalf of the hapless customer. Also, it is not acceptable, as a society, to allow people to die when a routine service can be provided to repair the person. 2. How is corruption mitigated? Accountability is required. Audits should be performed and people who are not doing a good job should be fired. 3. How do you keep politicians from using this program to buy more votes? If you love lobbyists then ignore this. 4. What penalty should be applied to those who abuse this system? 5. How do you allow for future advances in technology to navigate around this embedded government system?

Target of Bigotry/attacks - includes just about everyone. Just born babies I think still get a pass. Target of deportation - sure. Not being illegally in my country can be considered privilege. It's also, for most people, a choice. Being a legal immigrant exposed to deportation is usually limited to criminal behavior. Also, mostly a choice. Target of genocide - a violation to the right to life. Call it out and I'll be happy to join with you against it. "Its hard and exhausting to bring up issues of oppression" Bringing up generic issues of oppression is very easy. It's only when you start talking specifics when you lose peoples' votes. What's tiring is when people take a position based on faulty information and then pretend its the other peoples fault for not agreeing with the supposed oppression. Here's the rest of her post - "And when you read the critiques of the march from other progressive women who didn’t feel represented, don’t get defensive or discouraged. Activism needs critique. We need to ask ourselves where we were as Flint’s water has been poisoned, or where we were when Philando Castile was killed, or John Crawford or Eric Garner or Charleena Lyles. If the women who showed up at the march would show up when people of color are murdered, it would stop. Intersectionality means showing up even when the issues don’t affect us directly. Stay awake and stay active. We need you so much right now." https://motherwiselife.org/to-my-friends-who-are-sick-of-politics/ "Flint's water has been poisoned" - hard not to call this a complete lie. The source water for Flint is somewhat acidic and was typically treated until the local government decided to be cheapos and not treat it. Then the acidic water flowed from the street pipes into the house lines that had yet to be upgraded to copper or PVC from the original lead. The lead pipes "melted" into the houses water supply and contaminated it. Perhaps you can say the house owner or the house pipes "poisoned" Flint's water, but it didn't. At best, it just poisoned the house's water. Just looked at the Castile case yesterday. Pulled over on a traffic violation, announced to the officer that he had a gun, proceeded to go into his pockets while the officer yells at him to not reach for his gun. Officer sees his gun and shoots him. Very sad and yet the presumption of racism is unfounded. John Crawford - just looked it up. His actions seem indefensible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvgQ1AHYgTg Eric Garner - Refused to cooperate with arrest and dies due to complications due to an illegal choke hold and poor health. Also very sad and not evidence of racism. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24PAhUhnACo Charleena Lyles - Crazy woman attacks cops with ...

It is whatever it is that interests the participants, whatever they value, whatever goals they pursue. I have found that, to make a contented slave, it is necessary to make a thoughtless one. It is necessary to darken his moral and mental vision, and, as far as possible, to annihilate the power of reason. He must be able to detect no inconsistencies in slavery; he must be made to feel that slavery is right; and he can be brought to that only when he ceased to be a man." - Frederick Douglass, former slave, Stalwart Abolitionist, Great American Treasure

I remember delivering turkey dinners to local destitute people for a Thanksgiving many years ago. We had one dinner left to deliver but were unable to find the address. I went into a local store and asked the cashier, who was working a late shift during the holiday season, how to get to the address. She was unable to help. I then asked if she knew someone who is poor and would appreciate the last turkey dinner. To this she gave us an address. We went to the apartment and rang the bell, but wound up leaving the dinner in front of the door because no one was home. It didn't dawn on me, until sometime later, that the address the cashier gave us might have been her own. If I were working a late shift during the holidays, barely getting by, and I saw my do-nothing neighbor receive a free turkey dinner, I'd be a bit disheartened. I actually hope we delivered that Turkey dinner to that hard working woman's address. Due to externalities (older unvaccinated children can get younger not yet vaccinated children sick) there is room to argue for a government mandate. It would be more just, in my mind, if the adults who chose to expose their children to the higher risk of disease were instead the ones who received the debilitating diseases. Of course, if I lived under socialized medicine, which requires my neighbors to cover my poor health decisions, there is little to no room to argue against mandated health requirements. As for the negative consequences for taking vaccines, they are well documented and researched. The vaccines I reviewed, the negatives are well offset from the benefits received. The testing samples are whole national populations.

This is actually a pretty important concept for everyone to understand so I will summarize: Idea Laundering - A social hypothesis is formed and then promoted using a cadre of like minded intellectuals who, with the weight and power of their academic prestige, publish articles in social journals and then point to those peer reviewed articles to substantiate the never tested hypothesis. I'd think the correcting response is to peer review the published articles and tarnish any journal that doesn't hold itself to a high academic standard. As an example - Social Hypothesis - non-affirmative counseling of children with gender dysphoria, so called conversion therapy (Johnny you are not a girl) is harmful to them. Here is the published article which asked trans adults how much it hurts them to know that their dysphoria wasn't affirmed as a child. https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamapsychiatry/article-abstract/2749479 Last week the American Medical Association noted their support for conversion therapy to be legally banned by medical practitioners. Were The Nazis Socialists? - YouTube
RobBlair comments on Nov 26, 2019:
The beginning discussion regarding Hitler's evil usurpation of power and the lack of courage by those with moral authority is important for us to dwell on. Both the Nazis and the socialists use(d) scapegoats to establish their power structure. The Nazis used the Jews. And the socialists typically use the "rich" (9:00 in this video). I say typically, because we also see the use of companies, races (white) and gender (male). Rule 13 - "Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." is used, not to promote an ideal, but to garner power. Both the Nazis and Socialist countries amount to absolute state authoritarianism. If Hitler, Stalin or Mao (or even Chavez/ Maduro) woke up and decided you were to be tortured and killed, that's what wound up happening. A definite contrast that I think helps keep socialists from gaining the infamy they deserve - While Nazis promoted the outright murder of their scapegoats, socialists steal from theirs. Even so, the theft of property and food amounted to the murder of millions in both Russia and China. I want to come back to 9:00 in this video because this statement is beyond ignorant and can only be achieved with a very provincial outlook. When people are rewarded in a capitalistic system it is because they have provided a good or service that others voluntarily pay for. Even China has, to some extent, forgone the socialist central planning model as a failure and replaced it with a quasi capitalistic system which has created many billionaires in China. Finally, Nationalism under a creedal system that states "all men are created equal and are endowed with unalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" is a good thing that directly fights against racism and authoritarianism that has been a plague to human kind throughout history.

TheWeek: McConnell can't be trusted with impeachment.
RobBlair comments on Nov 26, 2019:
Cocaine Mitch has already teased the idea that he will tie up the Democratic "contenders" during a lengthy post impeachment investigation. I look forward to hearing from Hunter and Joe Biden as factual witnesses. Tying the "whistleblower" to Schiff's mechanizations and lies should provide a day of entertainment. We'll see if he can be honest under oath. Could also use the time to dig into Ukrainian election interference and ties with the Democratic machine. All this attention can be refocused back at its source. I expect weeks of entertainment.

The biggest problem with this list is that the weakest example can be cited and shown to be mostly preposterous. Joe Rogan on Immigration and Social Democracy
RobBlair comments on Nov 25, 2019:
He goes full circle. It's not the one family that crosses into the country illegally, it's the 100 other families where she came from that now think they should leave where they are situated and risk a long trip into a country where they have to assimilate. Its the children dying on the border, it's the criminal syndicate of coyotes that get paid to escort (and often abuse) these people illegally across the border. It's the burden of these thousands of new families that now have to assimilate, require medical treatment, schooling, and other resources that were pooled away by Americans for Americans. I say he goes full circle because he wants to reduce the losers mooching off of the system but his solution is education. It should be obvious that this education will not exist outside of those that have assimilated, which requires a control on immigration that he is against. Happy thoughts on a sinking ship will not fix the problem.

As for politics, I think only 20% of the population are truly engaged. The other 80% read the billboards just before voting. So only 10% know enough and are inclined to hate my position. Do I have an open mind - not really. I hate being wrong though so I will change my position. I regurgitate Daily Wire. If I discover they are lying to me, they will get dropped. Unapologetic liars and the people that rely on them are a scourge to our social health. No, conservative propaganda tends to be crap. However, the conservative positions are actually wiser, more intelligent and better informed than the progressives.

As a follower of Ann Coulter, a lot of this rings well for me. However - "Some of these establishment turncoat Double-Speakers and outright liars, such as Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA‘s ... now denigrate the new generation of America First and obstruct their efforts to move the government to enforce current immigration law and seal our borders." “I think the biggest issue in America is immigration, and without this president, we would not even be talking about it,” said Kirk. “He’s stayed so disciplined on it. He did not waver, and he really stayed in a way that said, ‘Here’s the issue, and here’s a solution to it.'” - Charlie Kirk So your problem with Kirk is not on immigration - https://www.breitbart.com/radio/2019/02/28/charlie-kirk-immigration-biggest-issue-america/ To believe that demographics is destiny is, on its surface, empirical, but at its roots, racist. If Western Culture is the best culture, then it will survive and be past on to our heirs. It will also be distributed to our neighbors and other fellow citizens. However, if our culture continues to encourage families to fall apart and not produce children, people to ignore their spiritual lives, an inward reflection instead of outward proselytizing and fails to show courage against obvious deceits, then it is not the best culture. However, I know it to be the best culture. I just think our approach needs to be more pragmatic and we need to seize back the reins of communication. Conservatives are not racist but the far left is. When a black or Hispanic or woman runs for office, they are just another fellow conservative to us. But to the left, they are a lightening rod for all that they hate and should therefore receive more of our support. Further, little Nicky needs to be ditched. He is poison.
And she fits right in with central casting.

Study by IDW-linked Heterodox Academy shows that Jordan Peterson is a gateway to the alt-right
RobBlair comments on Nov 20, 2019:
"With his focus on corruption and ideological orthodoxy in the academy, especially his resistance to imposed speech on gender norms, many critics argue that he has attracted the interests of a male-dominated and white-supremacist following on social media sites such as Gab and 4chan. Others contend that Peterson serves as something of a ‘gateway drug‘ to more hostile alt-right content." that last phrase "...'gateway drug' to more hostile alt-right content." More? What content was mentioned that was alt-right? We are talking about: corruption idealogical orthodoxy in the academy resistance to imposed speech on gender norms This goof could have been avoided if they had a conservative POV represented. As it stands, the obvious bias of the authors is there for all to see plainly. And, their inability to seek out a decent peer review speaks to their honesty. As noted in other comments, the biggest failure of this article is not defining the "alt-right." By not defining the 'alt-right' clearly, the authors have just substituted everything outside of their narrow political window, things that they disagree with or hate, as alt-right. This is the same mistake the now discredited SPLC made.
