Important stories that we need to hear. I've stated it several times that this country can't afford to have an underclass hiding in the shadows. Our immigration system must be corrected. People who are here illegally need to leave. Seems cruel but why? Is their country so much worse than ours? Then that is also a call to action. Encouraging people to break the law here is wrong and hurts those who do follow the law. Not OK. As for the homeless, yes we have a problem. Letting them destroy downtown neighborhoods is not the answer. People need homes. Letting them fester in squalor is not good for them or anyone. As for criminals, yes put them in jail. They have failed the social contract. Not having laws or corrections will put us into anarchy where only power matters. There are charities and programs for the homeless that need you. When my son gets older I'm hoping to get back into "Good Works" (repair/renovate urban houses). There are programs for going into central american countries to help, try one (it was very rewarding for me). My church has a prison ministry. If you care, go talk to these lost people. You've made the call, now answer it.

Racial profiling is a sensitive issue and has been deemed illegal. But profiling, because we aren't stupid, is what we all do. With limited resources, I fully expect our police force to do the same. What could go wrong? - Assessments could be used against individuals in civil trials (divorce). - Police could use the assessments to harass civilians (Ruby Ridge) - Political opportunists could use assessments for political means (ex. give us your tax records) - Profiling could encourage police to neglect other groups of bad entities (ex. ignore Antifa but focus on proud boys) Looking at the recent failures of the Feds regarding Stoneman Douglas and Sutherland Springs, I think there is enough the Feds are already bad at. Adding "assessments" will probably not help and does offer harm.

Hammer neglects to mention Nancy Pelosi as an author. 2018 was a bad year for the budget. My "Republican" - grow the economy out of the budget crisis - congressman is out and he's been replaced with a party line democratic congresswoman. If we want a sensible budget, this is the wrong direction. Trump ran on building a wall ($) and not touching Social Security, and Medicare. Promises kept. The fiscal crisis needs to be won at home before we should expect our representatives to toe the line. If your answer isn't "everything" to what the federal government should cut to balance the budget, then you are part of the problem.
