How long will media use SPLC's garbage hate list to smear people? [thefederalist.com]

Are billionaires harmful to the economy? They take billions out of circulation
RobBlair comments on Mar 20, 2019:
I'd like to be surrounded by billionaires. I like the people they hire, the products they make, the houses they build, the research they donate too. The only money they have was given to them voluntarily through free trade (I purchased Windows 10 because I wanted it, I use Amazon because its awesome). Its rightfully theirs. They can do anything they want with it. Poor people are harmful to the economy. They use up more resources than they produce - schools, hospitals, streets, welfare, etc... Instead of propping up poor people and their behaviors, I'd love to get rid of them by making them rich. Instead of being jealous of the rich, try emulating them. You should be rich too.
Another lesson from the Trump era.
RobBlair comments on Mar 20, 2019:
Outside of virtue signaling, I agree. With virtue signaling, Tu Quoque is very much appropriate. We should strive to deal with truth, but also recognize that our opponents feelings have often got the best of them. During the Kavanaugh hearings when the leftists were blathering about doing away with presumption of innocence, I suggested that their pursuit of justice was off target by asking them when they recognized that Bill Clinton raped women. They were tugging on the chord to the guillotine without recognizing that they had put their own head in it.
There seems to be an increasing number of folks suggesting that space beyond earth’s atmosphere ...
RobBlair comments on Mar 20, 2019:
Revealingly, they chose to ignore this reference to "waters" - Genesis 1:2 (KJV) - And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Here, "waters" exist before anything is created (ie not H2O water). As for not going to the Moon - we bounce a laser off a mirror that we placed on the Moon and if we didn't go to the Moon the USSR would make sure that everyone knew it. I wouldn't argue much after that other than request from them what information they would accept to change their minds. Space travel is a farce - Have they not seen "Galaxy Quest"? Science and theology - the marriage of Athens and Jerusalem. What great times we live in!
How can the Left be so myopic in not relating to the majority of we conservatives?
RobBlair comments on Mar 20, 2019:
Conservatives are the targets of a successful dehumanization campaign (racists, bigots, deniers...). The cognitive dissonance from someone like Candace Owens must be piercing.

Just tried counting Trump's tweets for 3/17 - can't count that high. Some mocking, a lot of promoting, retweeting and supporting. Everything the MSM is not. The democrats should just let their pravda branch handle the propaganda. Everything they publish just makes them sound like children.

Is it possible to seperate the stigma of being racist when making criticisms of islam?
RobBlair comments on Mar 19, 2019:
Start with what you want. In my case "All men are created equal and are endowed with certain rights." Its wrong to demand that women cover themselves. Its wrong to persecute "nonbelievers." Its wrong to murder people. It is good to hold open debates about what you believe even to the extent of supposed disparagement. It is wrong for those in authority to come between you and God. Arguing ideas is good. Attacking people is bad.

RobBlair comments on Mar 18, 2019:

RobBlair comments on Mar 18, 2019:
The US consciously voted for a black man twice to become the most powerful public figure in the world. In order to convince the non-whites to continue voting for the same people that failed them in the first place, racism must be seanced from the dead. Therefore, "Unconscious bias." In order to defeat this bad spirit, one must talk about the evil white man and blame him for everything wrong that the leftists are doing.

Getting stuff done vs Principles
RobBlair comments on Mar 15, 2019:
What a complete mess. First, this resolution passed by the Senate is specific to Trump's emergency declaration. If you have a problem with the Emergency declaration powers, then you need to rescind those specific emergency powers that our legislature abdicated to the president. We need this door shut for all time and not just for this situation. Second, the legislature has and continues to abdicate its legislative responsibility. This is an even bigger problem than the problem on our border. They need to return to regular order on budget bills. The fillibuster rules need to be reinstated (no moving forward until the fillbuster is done - you can delay but not stop a vote). Third, the border issue is a winning issue, politically and is necessary physically. But because of this Emergency Powers distraction, we aren't talking about it. Hang the wall around the leftists' necks. No border no country.

Freedom of speech for reprehensible people, sex on TV, anti-homosexual laws de-legislated, ... issues that were resisted by conservatives and promoted by progressives. Of course it's preceded by someone's Santa Claus list ("and for Christmas I want detergent for the washer machines, and free housing, free food, .... " they still believe!). Does a high or low, in the historical past, constitute president for today's legislation?
RobBlair comments on Mar 11, 2019:
The US is the oldest current national government in the world. Its economic success has forwarded much of the human race out of hunger and poverty. In battle our enemies fear us and our allies depend on us. Those who ridicule us are mostly children crying for their milk. The progressives have changed this country in some fundamentally good ways like racial equality and de-legislate consensual behavior. Progressives have also experimented on many failed projects (some of which we've learned from, others not so much). The trans movement right now seems mostly void of intelligence but I might be wrong. Killing children continues to be a blindside, I couldn't tell you why. Trying to shut down free speech is a definite no no and needs to be responded to whenever allowed. Things are good - here, try an infusion of this - https://www.humanprogress.org/
Is Nationalism More Harmful Than Helpful?
RobBlair comments on Mar 11, 2019:
Begs the question - What is the national identity? If the national identity is "We hold that all people are created equal and are endowed with rights" then tying your identity to that nation is good. If the national identity is "Our race is superior and we should rule the world" then not good. If national identity is "God commands us to subjugate or kill the unbelievers" again not good. If national identity is "God commands us to keep his laws and provide food and water to our enemy" - this identity seems like its working out well. If national identity is "The state knows best and tells us what to do" - I'm sure this could work if only implemented properly. Conflating these identities seems like shorthand stupid.

I still enjoy the music and videos of this homosexual pedophile. It definitely detracts from the enjoyment though. If he were still alive I would avoid purchasing and promoting him and his behavior. No, definitely do not rewrite history. As I understand it, HBO is doing a good job showing the darkness that can happen when we worship these icons. We need to remember this lesson. Robert E Lee's statue at Gettysburg is a good opportunity to talk about why 3/4 million soldiers died and to understand that even a somewhat noble person can be enmeshed in the mechanisms of a failed power system. Black and white history is boring and wrong. There are a lot of grays.

Does success in school mean success in life?
RobBlair comments on Mar 8, 2019:
High IQ correlates with good grades in school and a higher standard of living. The lie is that a good school produces good students. In truth, when finding a place to live, you look for a school district that performs well. These districts are usually affluent. IQ is mostly genetic and does not improve from an early age. Therefore, the more affluent families produce higher IQ kids that perform well in school and move on to do well. High end colleges do a very good job at sorting through available candidates to enroll high IQ students. Alright, I'll look at Matt Walsh's video (I usually stick to Shapiro and Klavan). Einstein received the highest marks in math and science in school and performed well in other studies. Einstein was only bad at politics and dealing with his wife.

I think we're there right now. If a power structure in DC openly flaunts tyranny against the people (no free elections with a gun grab) they would have a difficult time if even 30% of the country decided to reimpose freedom. A lot of death on both sides with only an outside chance of reestablishing freedom so yeah MAD.
I am curious to know people’s feelings concerning the state of education in America.
RobBlair comments on Mar 7, 2019:
Not just your perception. College % readiness is falling while college enrollment is increasing. College admissions are also pushing policies that aren't merit based (downward pressure on readiness).
Do women realize abortion makes men hate them even more??
RobBlair comments on Mar 7, 2019:
I am against men, women and the industry that supports abortion. There also must be a way for redemption and forgiveness. The past is not mine to judge except in how I move into the future. The canard that only women have a say is put to flight when pro-life women say something. Groupthink is not for the IDW. Feminism is sucking the joy out of women as well as men. Find and cherish a woman who respects you.

Yeah I was looking at this yesterday on open secrets. https://www.opensecrets.org/pacs/expenditures.php?cmte=C00613810=2018 Brand New Congress - $250k for consulting on top of $200k for salaries and wages. The top 2 names for the company have arrest records. So weird. Brand New Campaign LLC has no records. Fishy - I hope this is properly pursued. I like knowing who is buying off my representatives. This intentional obfuscation needs to be punished.

Further weakening the connection between productive work and is the wrong direction. We need to work. Short of work, we should suffer to change ourselves so that we become employable. Without that suffering, few of us would make the necessary changes. Suffering, as with work, provides meaning. Per Victor Frankl - "Man's Search for Meaning" We can discover this meaning of life in three different ways: (1) by creating a work or doing a deed; (2) by experiencing something or encountering someone; and (3) by the attitude we take toward unavoidable suffering.

We have too many lawyers and yet not enough. Unless it distracts from another student's ability to learn or violates a pre-established dress code, the student is allowed to express their "Freedom of Speech" in what they wear. At least couch it as an argument about distracting other students. Not a valid claim in this case, but at least you tried.

Climate change: It could turn out much worse than we think Climate and weather are considered to...
RobBlair comments on Mar 6, 2019:
Climate - It is already way better than what they predicted - I'll just pull out a couple of things - "Interactions are non-linear, meaning that small changes in inputs, physical interactions or stimuli can cause large effects or very significant changes in outputs." is wishy washy language. It is just as correct to say non-linear means large inputs could cause very insignificant outputs. I bring this up because increasing changes in CO2 concentrations cause diminishing changes in the greenhouse warming effect. "Predictions of future states of climate are impossible." - ? No. The models are getting more sophisticated. Hopefully the inputs are more accurate. They are definitely predicting the future state of climate. Whether they are accurate or not will be discovered. Actions if one wants to minimize risk: - OK, no. This presumes too much. The goal of anything and everything is not to minimize risk (stay home in bed under a blanket). The best way I've seen to approach the global warming issue is economically. What approach should be used to maximize wealth over the next 100 years? This can account for future losses due to global warming, sea rising, more storms, etc... The great thing about this approach is that someone has already done it and ranked it against other global economic issues. https://www.copenhagenconsensus.com/ I don't know much about global warming, but I know with great confidence that giving more power to a bunch of lawyers in DC, who think they know anything about the environment, is an epic fail. This is based on very sophisticated models using very accurate inputs showing our government is filled with a bunch of smart idiots who are happy to ruin this country for political votes [sarcasm intended].
The Trace is a leftist propaganda outlet... [bearingarms.com]
RobBlair comments on Mar 6, 2019:
I'm gonna agree with the Trace a little on this one. If you are in a domestic abuse relationship the first step is to end the relationship and hopefully get a restraining order. Only after proper boundaries have been reestablished should a fire arm be introduced into the mix. Further, I am against brandishing a firearm. IMO, the first time a perpetrator recognizes that there is a firearm, should be the last thing they remember. Of course the Trace quoting, “there is no clear evidence that in the hands of victims, firearms are protective.” is hilarious. A firearm in the hands of a woman prevents her from being the victim. This is the goal, right?
